LEGAL STATEMENT

The documents we create are from software provided by our Service Partner, Avanquest. Avanquest's software has been reviewed by qualified legal professionals. We customize your draft document based on an interview process Avanquest provide. Provided this process is followed, the document produced will have the recommended legal wording. We will print the document as a "draft" and recommend a legal professional review the draft before it is signed, witnessed, or notarized. We will only remove "draft" and our legal disclaimer from the document if you satisy our "draft removal policy".

FAQs and Legal Issues
WHY USE YOUR SERVICE RATHER THAN AN ATTORNEY?
You should see our service as complimenting the services of an attorney and helping reduce your overall legal costs. We can draft a letter or document with recommended legal wording at minimal costs or we can help plan legal steps with you without the use of an attorney and again at minimal cost. You should then go forward with attorney services (at their cost level) after this point. Our service particularly fits in with pre-paid legal services by third party suppliers of such services.
WHY NOT DOWNLOAD THE DOCUMENT FROM A WEBSITE LIKE LEGALZOOM.COM?
You will pay considerably more - our documents are substantially cheaper even after adding attorney review costs! Our process also involves a personal interview  which inserts the recommended legal statements that reflect your individual needs in the document. You can insert statements yourself, but they would not necessarily be the legally recommended statements. If you do choose documents from these websites, we are still happy to help with notary service.

CAN YOU PROVIDE NOTARY SERVICE?
In general, "Yes". However, there are a couple of important restrictions on us. We cannot notarize "draft" documents and so any document we notarize must satisfy our "draft removal policy". Also, most notarized documents require the personal appearance of the document signer and so if you cannot attend our office, we will refer you to a nearby notary to complete your documentation. Finally, it is professionally unethical for a Notary Public to profit from a document that requires notary seal(s) or signature(s). For many notarized documents, our "draft" document construction fee is no higher than the maximum notary fee in law (and there is no extra charge for Notary service on these documents). There are a small number of documents we draft where the time put in to constructing the document means we have to charge a fee higher than the maximum notary fee in law. On these limited occasions, we will refer you to a nearby notary to complete the document.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DOCUMENT AND A WORKSHEET?
The worksheet is a plan for the legal or financial consequences of a major life event e.g. estate planning or personal bankruptcy. We are helping you plan and manage your legal steps and costs - there is no need for attorney involvent in this process. Our interview process provokes you in to gathering all the information you need for this major life event, setting objectives and timescales, and generating the "draft" documents that will need to be used. A document is the letter(s), directives(s), power(s) of attorney, or other odcument(s) that finalize the plan. These "draft" documents should be reviewed by an attorney..
DO I NEED TO PROVE MY IDENTITY TO USE YOUR SERVICE?
For documents that require notarizing, you will need to have your ID verified. You may also find that in the case of for some government and some financial institutions that they subsequently require ID verification, even if not required in the first instance e.g. after requesting a birth certificate. We will happily assist in these cases.
WHAT STATES CAN YOU CONSTRUCT A DOCUMENT FOR?
We can construct most documents for most states (we will advise in the free consultancy phase if we cannot). Where a document needs notarizing, it is essential you inform us from the outset whether the state you will have the document notarized in is different from the state the document is being drafted for.
IF I SEND OUT A LETTER YOU CONSTRUCT, CAN YOU HELP ME WITH A FURTHER RESPONSE?
We would be happy to assist. In some circumstances, we may recommend you discuss the further response with an attorney first.
CAN YOU START COURT ACTION FOR ME?
No. We will happily recommend an attorney to start Court action for you. Of course, we can help draft documents prior to needing to take court action which may help in any resulting legal case (especially for customer dissatisfaction, demands for money owed, and denial of services).
CAN YOU DRAFT A DOCUMENT FOR SOMEONE OTHER THAN ME?
Yes, but we will need to confirm with them that you are acting as their agent . Also, if the document needs notarizing then the individual(s) you are acting for will need to personally appear at our office (or an alternative notary). This requirement will be excused if you hold a valid power of attorney regarding the matter.
